At times when we feel low health wise and think that we haven't eaten anything wrong, even slept well but we feel weak, nauseous and exhausted. Well it can happen because of various reasons like inactivity, feeling lonely, some stressful thoughts and it's when we don't need any medicine but some ways through which we can just feel better. So here I am sharing a few of my practices that I do to feel better when I am in such a situation where my circumstances, health conditions and thoughts are taking over my health.

 

1. Praying

Some of us joke that if something goes wrong just pray to God and I remember when I was fighting lupus and was in serious condition the nurse came to me, adored me and said pray to God… pray to God.

That time I felt helpless and somewhere angry too because I thought what are these doctors for, they were not even able to diagnose me, forget treating me.




But now after so many years of being fine and healthy, whenever I get a feeling that I am not feeling okay with my health, that time I just pray, believe me it really helps... It's like you are just talking to God and God is replying back to you in your thoughts and you don't feel alone and start feeling clarity, it's like now you know what exactly you have to do to feel better.



 So praying really helps… It's like a child is telling his/her parents about his/her trouble or that he/she is feeling sick and then the parent tells you what you should do or gives you a different thought by telling their experience making you feel positive and relaxed.

God gives you thoughts about what you need to do or gives you better and positive thoughts making you feel that it's unworthy of thinking negatively and feeling low about something. 



God is our creator so telling God what you're going through helps feeling good not just with your emotional health but even with your physical health.

  

2. Listening to happy Music/songs

Music is like healing medicine without any side effects. Oops! There can be some side effects though and that is you just become addicted to listening to music hours after hours. You knew I was kidding, aren’t you?

But seriously music can really heal your health problems. It make you happy, reduces stress, changes your mood make you feel relaxed and listening to happy song/music or some soothing classics is very important. Here I want you emphasize that "PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO SAD SONGS" as it will make you feel more low and will affect your health too.


 


Think of songs which make you smile and may be dance, choose them and listen to them on your phone or iPod. What I do is I listen to "Bhangra" songs or peppy music and then I start feeling better and active and while listening to it I do my chores or dance so it makes me feel healthy again.


 

3. Deep Breathing & feeling your body

Deep breathing to me is spending time with your body and understanding it internally. I am not taking you to memories of your biology classes thinking about internal organs okay? No I am not.

As I am talking about feeling breaths, how your body inhales and exhales it making you feel relaxed… This is what a type of meditation is which connects you with yourself. You will feel the energy you are and realize how protected you're by this universe.

 


Deep breathing also helps you to sleep better as it relaxes your body and mind and makes you fall asleep. Proper healthy sleep contributes to a "HEALTHY YOU"!


5. Exercising, motivating your engine to work better and feel better

Exercising helps in reducing body pain too as it improves blood circulation.

To me dancing is the best exercise, for you it can be something else like running, stretching or even doing household chores.

 Dancing & moving your body uplifting your mood is the exercise you can do in your house with your family on some fun music so it's exercise and entertainment at the same time.

  


6. Talking to family and friends

As it is said "Sharing is caring", the same way sharing your thoughts talking to your family members or your true friends is "Caring of self by sharing your thoughts".


 

7. Watching happy videos- funny baby videos

Happy videos make you happy but not all videos. When sometimes I feel unhealthy when I watch a comedy movie or a stand-up comedy act, I don't always feel happy watching it because I don't relate to the topic or sometimes they put double meaning jokes which I don't find funny at all. So to me the best happy videos are funny baby videos as it has innocence and comedy  .

8. Watching funny pet videos

Same as baby videos, pet videos are also a good way to boost health as it makes you laugh and understand that pets have unconditional love for us and they understand us really well.

 

9. Practicing Gratitude Everyday

By practicing gratitude and being grateful to God and the universe for what you have and blessed with, let's see the brighter picture of your situation. And you realize that nothing is that bad as you think and your health can be healed too because unfortunately there are people who are not as blessed as you are and may be suffering from higher and critical health conditions sadly can't get treated properly. So be grateful and thank you for what you have especially for family, friends and food. The best three assets you can have.


 


10. Writing thoughts

Writing down your thoughts lets you take out the burden of your heart. So grab pen or pencil and paper and write everything on it, whatever is bothering you. The pain you're feeling or the thoughts which are making you stressed and uneasy write it.

   

When I write it makes me worry less and also motivates me to do better to feel good again.
