5 REASONS WHY SLEEP IS IMPORTANT?
1. To feel energized.
Taking good quality night sleep helps us to feel upbeat, active and
enthusiastic in the morning and helps us perform our various important tasks
during the day. Without good sleep one may feel lethargic the whole day, whether
he/she is a student in school/college or and employee in office. Lack of energy
whole day due to lack of sleep eventually leads to unproductivity.
2. To make your muscles relaxed.
Almost daily a person does different
activities, for example , household chores, work in office, working out in gym
and this may include attending business meetings and being on social media to
stay updated or for entertainment purpose...due to all this and stress
throughout the day, our muscles tend to become stiff. Other cause of it can be
some medical condition like lupus, arthritis or fibromyalgia and also old age because
of which one may feel extreme pain in muscles and joints .To relax our muscles
we require proper hours of quality undisturbed sleep as it helps in repairing
our aching joints and muscles.
3. To do tasks better written in the “to-do-list”.
As discussed in the first reason and elaborating it here, we need to have
proper night sleep to tick mark right in front of our daily to do list entries.
Tiredness can make performing activities worst and we may feel exhausted doing
a simple task in hand. In some cases where people doesn't take good sleep feel
fatigued and stressed the next day at work and since they have to perform long
hours duties and which causes them passing out and even eye lid twitching ( I
have experienced it too).
4. To avoid seizures.
While fighting against a chronic disease, I have suffered from seizures. For the
sake of my knowledge, prevention from seizures and good health, I asked my
neurologist "how can I prevent seizures from happening again?"...he
answered “never keep yourself hungry and take 8 hours of sleep at night, 11 PM
to 7 AM."
So, since then I’ve realized how important is to have proper healthy fulfilling
diet and complete uninterrupted sleep at night.
Well here I am not encouraging to follow what exactly I do as these are
my personal experiences. Everyone’s body and mind is different and sleep cycle
too, you must need find what your sleep cycle is and how many hours of sleep is
good for you and your health. The best prevention for any health issue is to
first listen to your body.
5. To boost power of immunity system.
When we sleep well, our body system performs better. All part of our body works
efficiently which helps us to have good appetite and along with sleeping good,
eating proper healthy meals, exercising helps in boosting power of our immune
system leading to better prevention from common diseases.
