SIMPLE WAYS TO OVERCOME LAZINESS

Laziness is unwillingness to do activities even though having the capability to do the act and sometimes we are just not able to overcome laziness, especially when we overthink about what to do to feel active and motivated again. Have you ever felt sleepy during whole day as if you have not had enough sleep even after taking full eight hours goodnight sleep? That’s exactly how we feel when we are lazy. The sleepiness and feeling of low energy stops us from doing our basic tasks.



Laziness can be caused because of various factors like lack of motivation, stress, poor health or lifestyle. Generally Laziness is a habit of reluctance to be active and doing what we want to do or have to do. The best part is that as it is a "habit" which means it can be changed with a new GOOD habit.

 


As I was also dealing with this habit of being lazy, I decided that I have to do something to make myself active again and overcome this state of lethargy otherwise my body will become stagnant and unhealthy as it can also lead to various health conditions and can damage the power of my immunity system too. 

 So to conquer this laziness, I applied some simple ways which I want to share with you all so that you too can help yourself to become active again if you are also feeling extremely lazy as I was feeling. To know what all I did...keep reading!

 

 

Follow the 5 minutes rule.

 5 minute rule is when you feel lazy to do something and you just decide to do that task for just five minutes. The hardest part of overcoming laziness is to just begin the task, so when you do decide to do something for just five minutes it doesn’t feel like a burden and you start doing the task and while doing it you get into the flow state of giving more time to the task or may just complete it in just five minutes depending upon what task it is and how much time it takes to get it done. For example, brushing your teeth or making bed. This five minutes rule will also help you do other activities or following the other ways to overcome laziness given below.

 



Talk to a friend.

Talk to a positive person, maybe a friend about how you feel. Have good conversation about anything but avoid talking or complaining about how lazy you are feeling, instead talk about a happy childhood memory with your buddy. You can talk to more than one friend on conference and have happy reviving time which will make you feel less lazy or low.

 


Listen to upbeat music it will change your mood and will help you feel cheerful. 

While listening to the music, you can household chores like cleaning or even can take shower while listening to your favorite full of beat song, this will not only revive you physically but will also make you happy and active mentally as well, hence help to overcome laziness.

 


Do exercise or dance.

Well I think dancing is the best exercise and that’s why I have shared it in my other articles as well. Dance wild in your room alone or with you family, enjoy the bond and have fun. This will remove laziness, boredom and will also make you healthy mentally and physically.

 

Do something new and creative.


This is the time when you can sit and decide how differently you want to cook an old recipe or draw a beautiful painting, make a wall art out of scrap or waste stationery materials and try new stuff about which you thought once but never got the time or chance to do it.

 



Change environment.


Organize everything around you make it look beautiful and accessible. Change you old study desk into your office desk (that's what I did last two days and I am very excited and happy about my new office desk). You can do different things according to your liking...just open your mental block and let yourself imagine and use your creativity. 

 

Go for a walk.

 

Walking will help to improve your mood and reduce your stress levels too. It will increase blood circulation in your body and will also help you to get out from the state of being sluggish. If you have a pet then it will best to do as you will have a companion to be with and enjoy the walk more.



 

Eat healthy and sleep well.

Basically take good care of your health. As I shared with you earlier that laziness can be cause of some illness you are not aware of maybe or just because you’re are not taking enough rest or eating improper diet, you have to take care of your health to feel active again and overcome laziness.

Enjoy an old hobby.

You may have become so busy in life that you have stop enjoying or give time to the hobbies you use to like to spend time doing. Go back enjoying an old hobby which you like doing in your childhood like painting or playing guitar and feel more happy and energetic again.

Manage stress to overcome laziness.

Stress, worrying and overthinking or fearing can make you mentally tired and you may start feeling low in energy and lazy to even do the basic things.
