Your Inner strength: A Guide to Lasting Persistence

A beast is what we should be aware of and normally we are. In some special cases the beast is not real and we let this fake beast overpower us and this fake beast is called fake fear.
What is fear?
Fear is a natural feeling or sentiment which makes us alert about something harmful that may happen and helps in prevention of something that can harm us and also others around us. It lets us protect ourselves and everyone from possible danger and mishappening. So this fear is actual or I may say real fear is good and is not less than a blessing to us which keeps us vigilant.
With the help of this fear a mother protects her toddler from
possible injury as the child is still learning to balance, walk and mostly
playful because of which the toddler can easily get injured while playing or
walking and the fear the mother feels lets the mother know in advance that she
needs to take a look at her child and him/her keep safe. The emotion called
fear is actually good for us and we should be always aware of it when and why
we feel it.
What is
fake fear?
Fake fear is nothing but an illusion or imagination about
something negative that may happen or is happening which is not real and is
only in our thoughts. This fake fear which is like a fake beast stops us from
doing the right thing and keeps us away from reaching our full potential and
goals in life. We should always try to avoid being victims of this fake beast
which is not even as powerful as an ant.
Because of giving power to this beast we put ourselves into
situations which harms our life such as by fearing about something which is
only in our imagination and we should not worry about, what we do is, we make
our health suffer from anxiety, stress and even worse medical conditions.
Fear vs.
fake -fear?
Fear is natural help which our mind and body provides us to
protect ourselves and others from something wrong or damaging to happen to us
and others.
Fake fear is overthinking about something that may happen
which is not real or may not be possible. It makes us see the situation
negatively and we tend to exaggerate it in our mind, harming ourselves and at
times others as well.
Why should
we avoid fake fear?
Fake fear or over-fearing causes stress to us and harms our health mentally and physically too. It makes a difficult situation worse when the situation can easily be handled by being calm and thinking clearly. For example, students preparing for their examination starts fearing about the exam and question to appear and they start overthinking about
what will happen and
couldn't study properly because of the fear; couldn't sleep night before exam
which is very much required to stay relaxed and keeps the brain relaxed and
even memorize what they learn during the day and even after preparing well in
that condition, when they attempt the question paper in examination Hall they
go blank. So this beast really makes them think so negatively that they lose
confidence in themselves and their knowledge and abilities and even their health
suffers too from all this. That is why this fake beast always needs to be
avoided.
How to get
rid of fake fear?
Stay aware.
Focus on how you feel and stay aware and conscious about what
you're feeling. Analyze whether this feeling is good for you or is bad and
harms you. Is it good fear that is actual fear or the fake beast?
Stop overthinking about what the same thought causing worry to you.
This is the next best step; see whether you're thinking too much about a situation that your head feels heavy and even your chest feels heavy too. And is what you’re thinking is positive or negative. Is it really logical or not. Stop your thoughts at that time. And question yourself… Why am I thinking this?
When you will ask yourself this question then gradually you will stop thinking about the same thought excessively.
Write your thoughts.
Write whatever your thoughts are on paper or on a digital
platform available to you to take it totally out of your mind. If you keep
thinking about the same thought and won't let it go then it will get engraved
in your mind and will become a memory. You will feel that it is actually
happening when it is not so better to write about it and relax.
Talk to someone trustworthy and a positive thinking person.
We should always be careful about whom we are sharing our
thoughts and feelings with. Positive people who can understand you too make you
see the right and actual picture about your fear and if it is someone negative
and mainly toxic, those kind people make our thinking even worse and take out
all hope.
For example, if you are afraid about what will happen on your wedding day and nothing goes well then obviously you're having fake fear which is harming you.
And you share your thoughts about this to your best friend who is positive and knows you and your family and your fiancé as well and even about all your wedding planning, then you're sharing your thoughts with the right person who we tell you to stop overthinking and enjoy the moment. But on the other hand you share your thoughts with your immature teenage brother who may not understand the situation or how exactly you're feeling, will confirm your fear making you feel pathetic and more anxious.
Practice mindfulness and meditation.
These are great ways to control your thoughts and keep check
on your worries. Mindfulness lets you stay in the present moment and meditation
provides you relaxation, clarity and positivity.
Keep focusing on your goals and work toward achieving it with an open
mind.
It's good to feel the journey rather than thinking about what
will be the result. When we keep busy towards attaining something we want or
desire which will improve our life circumstances then we feel happy and worry
less while stepping on each step going near our goals.
So these are my thoughts on what I believe is helpful in
getting rid of the fake beast.
