Self-improvement is simply all about working on yourself to improve yourself as a person and which eventually leads to overall improvement of your life. It may include identifying certain areas of your life which are indicating you to improve yourself to improve your life conditions.
For example, it may be related to your health that is you don't feel healthy from the past few months and when you evaluate the reason why you're feeling so, you get to know that some not so healthy habits like consuming too much caffeine or not being active are the reasons causing negative impact on your health.
It can be anything which may make you feel to change yourself to be an improved self. We all want to change or improve something about ourselves and actually that is good because to grow as a person, it is important to improve yourself.

I do to better and clearly imagine my goal is that I try to consume content
about it offline and online by reading about it and also by watching videos of
it. Putting pictures which helps you visualize your desire on a vision board or diary also
helps.
3. Focus on one thing you want to improve in yourself at a
time and go to next when you achieve your first priority.
For example, you may want to quit the habit of overthinking, so first focus on how you can prevent yourself from overthinking. You may start writing a journal to keep thoughts bothering you out of your mind or/and practice mindfulness to be in the moment etc.
When you will notice that now you don't
overthink anymore and you have achieved your goal of preventing yourself from
thinking too much unnecessarily then only you should decide what your next goal is; what else about yourself you want to improve and then work on it. Focusing on more than one goal at a time won't let you achieve any of your goals for self-improvement.
4. Start over again - During the process of self-improvement, if you fail for any reason then don't punish yourself for it. Instead just be aware, accepting and patient. You may give yourself a short break and again start to be on track of improving yourself.
For example, if you are trying to reduce weight by following a proper diet and exercise regime. For some reason you are not able to workout for a few days then don't feel guilty or bad about yourself because it is absolutely normal. Just give yourself a day or two to feel your emotions and from the next day commit to yourself to follow your goal and start exercising again on daily basis.
