30 WAYS TO BE MORE MATURE

1. Be more considerate to yourself and others. Show sensitivity towards them whenever required.

2. Instead of being jealous of people about what they have or what they have received or achieved, learn from their achievements and appreciate them.

3. Be yourself, don't try to act like someone you are not or relate to don't relate to. You can surely feel inspired from someone you admire but don't start acting like them suddenly and just try to learn and adapt what you find inspiring about them such as their confidence, their communication skills etc.

4. Let go. Don't hold on to a situation for too long, if something good has happened be grateful about it. Enjoy with people or alone by giving yourself reward and then move on to the next best thing to happen, just keep moving mentally too. Similarly if something unfavorable has happened, again don't hold it just learn from it and move on. Trust the process and enjoy the journey.

5. Don't be too hard on yourself. People try to be so self-critical and that is not being mature at all. You're mature when you accept your failures or mistakes and give yourself a chance to grow and become better.

6. Read more. Reading self-improvement books is also great to gain wisdom and adapt that wisdom. Think and behave maturely wisely.

7. Serve to humanity. A person understanding others' problems and helping them is mature as he/she understands the purpose of being human.

8. Learn to become empathetic. Empathetic is when you try to see and feel other people's feelings like your own. Being empathetic will make you learn more about your own strengths.

9. Don't take anything seriously and stop being over-sentimental and take things to heart. If good happens accept and appreciate it and move on to the next good to do. If something not that favorable happens again accept it and learn from it while appreciating what happened in a positive and move on to the next good to do.

10. Live and let live. Don't be so bothered about what others are doing. Just let them live the way they want to. Help them when needed. If they accept it then its good and if not they will learn a lesson to become better.

11. Stop the complaining attitude. Being grateful for what you already have and seeing the positive picture is being wiser and mature.

12. Ignore harmful stuff. It is immature thinking that if you do wrong things or consume harmful things like smoking and drinking, you will look cool and mature. But actually thinking that way is the most unwise thing. Maturity comes with knowing and doing what is right for you and for others as well.

13. Don't be a people pleaser, nope! I have seen that most of us try to always please someone or the other almost all the time. May it be our family members, relatives, friends, so-called friends and even people whom we don't know at all?

Being a people pleaser makes you live on other people's terms. You should definitely keep in mind what your loved ones like or dislike but not always try to please them and that too all the time. Keep your opinion too politely. And don't try to please them by doing what they think is good and you know is not good or right at all. Be assertive, let people know what your boundaries are and what you prefer now that doing.

14. Stay humble always. Being proud is of no use. Have you ever thought that a single breath we take is given by God and all the amazing things we think we do is because of the love of God, so what do you have your own?

Being proud of something amazing you do or have is not wise as everything is created by God and is a blessing. It's better to be thankful and stay humble rather than feeling proud.

15. Avoid self-boasting. Any type of boasting is a pure sign of immaturity and boasting about self is the prime. When you boast you try to please people or feed your own ego. Being mature is when you possess some qualities and let people know about them when they see your work or actions (not deliberately though).

16. Don't share personal information with people. It will harm you in future.

17. Know when it is right to be childlike and silly. You can be so in front of close friends, family members who know you very well and if your profession demands. For example, a comedian will try to act silly to make his/her audience laugh.

18. Don't trust people easily. Observe them first. Don't trust their words if those words don't match their actions. Or if someone says something to you which doesn't give you a

good vibe then it's better to first learn the truth that whether what they are saying is absolutely right or wrong then you can believe them after knowing that what they said was worth believing and whether they deserve your trust or not.

19. Be diplomatic in situations where it is necessary to be. It is not wrong to be diplomatic in situations when you know that if you will be blunt that it will create an

unfavorable situation. So better think first and speak or react as per the situation or the person around you.

20. Don't do backbiting and avoid gossiping completely. Another sign of immaturity is when you are too concerned about other people's life negatively. A mature person knows that it is best to live and let live plus don't discuss their life in their back unless they care about them and try to find a solution to help them.

21. Engage in healthy productive conversation. It is one of the best ways of growing your maturity level and knowledge.

22. Practice hobbies. Better to spend time with yourself and people having the same interest engaging in activities which give you joy and improve your skills.

23. Learn to enjoy your own company first.

24. Stop expecting and start hoping.

25. Stay away from what doesn't really exist, read the article "beat the fake beast" to know more.

26. Have discipline in life. Develop a routine which does well to you.

27. Indulge in productive habits. And stay busy but productively. Even if you are on social media then stay on it to learn something productive which will benefit you and grow your knowledge.

28. Respect people, everyone! That is one of the best ways to show Maturity. Even if you're in anger, choose to be in silence and stay calm by avoiding saying hurtful things to others in that temperament as words can never be taken back.

29. Be more tolerant and practice habits to reduce stress.

30. Be competitive in a healthy way. Compete with yourself to better yourself and to become a higher version of self. Don't be jealous of others and compete with them in a positive way where you will learn and enjoy the process.
